How frequently do you change your WordPress Theme? There will be different answers for this question. Most of the times it depends on personal views and in this blog post I’m going to share my personal thoughts. My friend Devesh from WPKube wrote an article on “How Frequently Should You Change Your WordPress Theme?” As its not possible to share everything in a comment, I decided to write a detailed article on that.
WordPress Theme I use on WPSquare
From the day 1 WPSquare is powered by Genesis Framework. And here are some 5 Reasons Why we prefer Genesis Over Thesis. Till date I redesigned WPSquare many times and here are some reasons Why I frequently change my WordPress theme.
1. I like Experiments
I like WordPress very much and I always try to do some random experiments on how stuff works. During this process, I end up tweaking many parts of the theme which sometimes results in a whole new look. The best way to get refreshing look to your WordPress theme is by using background patterns. A combination of both dark and light patterns is quite enough to change the look of your WordPress theme instantly.
2. Someone Copies my Design
Usually, I spend hours and hours in tweaking and optimizing my WordPress theme. One day or other someone copies my design, either by stealing style.css file or by copying certain parts of the theme. As I use a combination of Genesis Framework and Custom Child theme, the style.css file can be readily used on any of the Genesis Child Themes. I always try to make WPSquare theme as unique as possible.
3. To get more Interest
Sometimes Blogging is such a boring task and self-motivation is necessary to keep on going. To make blogging more fun and to get back the lost interest we need to seek some inspiration. I usually get that by changing the look and feel of my blog. Whenever I’m not writing I simply tweak the design to make it more simple and easy to use. There are other ways too, but this works well for me.
4. Something New is Available
StudioPress is such an awesome WordPress theme company, that releases atleast 2 new themes a month. I like their Mobile Responsive WordPress Themes that are designed to fit across all devices. New themes released by StudioPress always tempt me and I end-up making a quick switch. Premium Genesis Child Themes can be readily used to get a refreshing look instantly, customizing them brings more uniqueness.
5. Conversions Matter
Well, the only way I get some revenue from WPSquare is via affiliate marketing. So its always important to keep track of clicks and conversions. At WPSquare, I use and recommend only a few quality digital products like Genesis, Soliloquy etc. From my past experience I can say, Design plays a crucial role in getting targeted clicks. Hence, if any particular theme doesn’t works I’ll change it. But this happens very rarely.
Thats all from my end and please note that all the above mentioned reasons are purely my personal views. So share your opinions on “How Frequently you change your WordPress Theme” by dropping a comment here. Lets exchange some knowledge.
